Welcome to the section of the website which gives you the chance
to get involved. Here you can volunteer a little time, help with some research,
share a few ideas, get our Contact details or, if you're
in a hurry, send a message via our on-line
form
Do something for kiwanja today...
kiwanja.net is incredibly
efficient and 'lean'. Paid consultancy
and client-related income largely subsidises the ongoing development and support
of in-house projects such as
Silverbackers,
FrontlineSMS,
nGOmobile and the
Mobile Database. kiwanja is fully open and transparent and
all reports, articles and documents are made
freely available on-line. Requests
for help and advice are also regularly provided free of charge to non-profit
organisations with specific mobile-related needs
Your help is always welcome, however, and kiwanja is fortunate to receive the
support of a number of active volunteers. These volunteers
generally help out with project-specific activities, although organisational
collaboration and capacity building
opportunities
are also sometimes available
If you're interested there are several things you can do to help - send a
message, add a web link, share photos, help with research, share ideas, offer
some time or sponsor a project:
 |
Join our social networks: If you're on
Facebook, and you like what kiwanja is doing, join and get active in the
FrontlineSMS Supporters Group,
The Social Mobile Group, or the
Silverbackers Group (and invite your friends!). You can also follow
kiwanja.net on
Twitter |
|
| |
|
|
 |
Add a link: If you have your own website,
add a link to kiwanja.net - not only will this improve our search engine
ranking, but it will also help spread the message, potentially assisting
with future fundraising |
|
| |
|
|
 |
Contribute a photo: If you've been abroad lately
and took any mobile phone or technology- related photographs, why not
consider sharing them with the wider non-profit community? Send them in
via email for inclusion in the new
Gallery section of the website. It goes without saying that the picture must be yours to
give! |
|
| |
|
|
 |
Help with research: The number of socially beneficial mobile phone projects grows by the day, and
it's always a challenge keeping the
Mobile Database up-to-date. If
you have some spare time and fancy a little research, look
for projects that we haven't managed to list yet. You can then submit the
information via the dedicated on-line form provided. The more people acting as
our eyes and ears, the better |
|
| |
|
|
 |
Share your ideas: If you have any thoughts on how technology can provide
social benefit then please get in touch. You never know, we might be able to
turn them into reality |
|
| |
|
|
 |
Offer a little
time here and there: kiwanja is always looking for people with
web programming experience (PHP, MySql and so on), design skills, legal/business
and marketing/accountancy skills (can you help reduce our running costs,
or put together our accounts, or advise on the creation and running of a
non-profit foundation, for example?). We're also thinking about an Advisory Board
- can you help? Commitment in time is usually minimal, but
it's great to have a wider team to draw on every now and then. Drop us an
email if you're interested |
|
| |
|
|

|
Sponsor or donate: Last but not least,
sponsor. kiwanja is in the process of putting together innovative fundraising campaigns, funds from which will develop several key
projects and support the
kiwanja Foundation.
There is no direct on-line donation facility as yet, so please
email us for
further details
